Sinhala and Hindu new year festival

                        Every year this day is come on the 13th or 14th in     April. People believe on this day the sun goes from Pisces to Aries so they think that is a very important day. There for they get ready for that for month and month that mean farmers gather their their harvest before this day, repair house, clean the environment, buy new clothes and prepare sweet meets .                                                  

                                 Every body try to fallow traditional habits and customs. So for the last New Year festival. I also had a bathed and stopped all the works for thread year. Then during the inauspicious time (nonagathaya) .We didn’t do any works but during that time we went to temple with our family members and did religious observaces.Then at the first auspicious time. My mother did liking of hearth and prepared the first meal with hatch patch .After that my mother offered a share to the New Year prince their upon we did consumption (anubavaya).commencement of work and transaction (ganudenuva). After that we went to see New Year festival. Them on the way we saw road races, marathon races, cross, country race cycle races. Then we went to public ground then saw greasy pole, bun eating, cognition, blind eye, game, pillow fight bursting   best cry, New Year princes.                                                                                                                                   

                           Then after two days we did anointing of oill.After that we had bathed well and started the New Year very happily.

Sinharaja Forest

                                                    The local name of the sinharaja forest is sinharaja Adaviya which means the forest of the lion’s king. The legend tells us this vast forest was once a kingdom of the lions. This forest situated in the south western section of Island.
                                          Sinharaja is a tropical rain forest considerable size of Sri Lanka it is about 9000 hectares in extent.
                   Sinharaja forest contains many rivers and streams it is also contains    large humbler of plants us for Ayurvedic medicine it is also home of the many rare birds, animals and insects found nowhere else of the world in addition 60% trees of the forest are endemic to Sri Lanka of the forest.
             Sinharaja forest eagerly protected   by Government there for no one cut down trees or destroys the forest this is truly a national treasure.
